Initially inspired to join the hairdressing industry by Andrew 20 years ago in Perth, Western Australia, A.J now finds himself 5,000 miles from home and the newly appointed Salon Manager and Group Technical Director at Andrew Barton Salons.
A.J’s instantly recognisable advanced colour techniques are utilised by the hairdressing industry across the globe, while his stunning colour work has been showcased on television and in some of the world’s most influential style magazines, including Vogue, Dazed & Confused, Glamour and Elle. He has also been widely published in the industry press including Hairdressers Journal, Salon Business and Creative Head. 2010 saw A.J loved by fashion bible Vogue and appointed as Pureologist spokes-model for the award-winning haircare brand, Pureology, a brand and philosophy he really believes in.
A.J is a powerful, dynamic and motivating educator, compère and presenter, able to deliver a wide range of varied platform work, ranging from international show and educational seminars to teaching informative and energising practical workshops.
With an award-winning career, including British Hairdresser of the Year finalist, that spans over two decades, A.J is an industry-recognised expert in hair colour and Redken certified colourist with technical skills that are second to none. Well known on the international circuit, he has travelled all over the world to showcase his remarkable skills, and often accompanies Andrew when he works at shows both at home and aboard.
